Winning in tennis is easy if you make fewer mistakes than your opponent. Reducing your unforced errors can be difficult if you don’t know why you are missing. Your mistakes are usually hitting the ball either out, in the net or wide.
Here is a quick fix for all your strokes:
Serve: Try to hit the top of the ball when your serve is long. Keep your tossing arm up longer when you keep hitting into the net.
Groundstrokes: Turn your shoulders and get your racquet back before the ball bounces on your side when your shots are long.
Focus on staying down and watch the ball as you make contact if you are hitting into the net.
Volleys: Move your racquet first as if you are trying to catch the ball if you’re over hitting your volleys.
Any volley that goes into the net means that you’re looking at where you are trying to hit instead of watching the ball.
Overheads: Start your swing earlier if you hit out. Keep your head up to prevent hitting into the net; use your free hand to judge the ball by pretending to catch the ball. Any of your shots that go wide can be fixed by aiming a few feet more to the inside of the court. Trying to hit winners on the line will increase your unforced errors.
